It is natural that in our first blog post I take the time to tell you a little about who we are. Huajatolla Acres, LLC is a small farm-to-table operation located in Southern Colorado, and it is owned by Wade & Carol Ann Chase, and Edgar & Latisha Antillon.
How it Started
Several years back both the Chase and Antillon family began to seek a change in lifestyle which would lay the foundation. Each family purchased their own piece of land with no real intention of becoming partners in agriculture, just their own slice of heaven in Colorado.
In 2016 Edgar & Latisha began talks of moving to Alaska. Their transition from the city to their property in the country, just wasn’t going as planned. Their plan was to buy a small house in Alaska with an acre or two of land, and start an urban farm, similar to Curtis Stone’s Green City Acres. They were desperate for a change. As the search began for a house in Alaska, and bags essentially packed, Edgar thought to ask the Chase’s if they would be interested in becoming partners in this agriculture venture here in Colorado. It was a last ditch effort to get their plan back on track. The rest, as they say, is history.
